Today we present the bust of the Greek god Ares, which is equivalent to the Roman god Mars, here we have a representation of the god in the neoclassical style. In Greek mythology, Ares is considered the Olympian god of war, but he is more the personification of the brutality and violence as well as the tumult, the confusion and the horrors of battle, in contrast to his stepsister Athena, who represents the meditation and the wisdom in the matters of the war and which protects the humans from the ravages of his stepbrother. The Romans identified him with Mars, the Roman god of war and agriculture (which he had inherited from the Etruscans), the Roman god enjoy of higher esteem.
