Bust of Athena Giustinani. H.: 46   The classical Greek sculpture known as the " Athena Giustinani " is named after its best preserved, and most famous Roman version, a monumental statue of the goddess which was once the pride of the Giustinani Collection in Rome and is now in the Vatican Museums .  The Greek bronze original might have been the cult statue of Athena Sunias in the temple dedicated to her at Cape Souunion. Appears to be the only known bust of the Athena Giustiniani type, which was originally carved as a bust.

Together with the statue of Asclepius, it is of an inestimable value, because they are the only originals that could be saved from all the works of the author. Hygeia is the daughter of Asclepius, god of medicine and mysteries, this goddess symbolized in ancient times, the health and hygiene, it appears in the Hippocratic oath as a witness of the obligation of the doctor.

High : 27cm     Today we present the bust of the Greek god Ares, which is equivalent to the Roman god Mars, here we have a representation of the god in the neoclassical style. In Greek mythology, Ares is considered the Olympian god of war, but he is more the personification of the brutality and violence as well as the tumult, the confusion and the horrors of battle, in contrast to his stepsister Athena, who represents the meditation and the wisdom in the matters of the war and which protects the humans from the ravages of his stepbrother. The Romans identified him with Mars, the Roman god of war and agriculture (which he had inherited from the Etruscans), the Roman god enjoy of higher esteem.
