The painting "The lady at the window" by Rossetti   Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828 - 1882) was a English poet, illustrator, painter and translator. He was a Pre-Raphaelite painter, who at an early age showed a great interest in literature. Like all his brothers, he aspired to be a poet. However, they also wanted to paint, having shown a great interest in Italian art of the Middle Ages.
