Bas-relief of the Parthenon. British Museum. 165x103x12cm

We have in our website some reproductions of fragments of the Parthenon frieze which is located in the British Museum, the entire frieze measures 160 meters long and has surrounded the top of the cella of the Parthenon in Athens, it is a masterpiece of the Greek classical sculpture, was made in low relief with Pentelic marble in Ionic style, although it has been found in a Doric building. Probably represents the procession of the Panathenaea Great, which took place every four years in honor of the goddess Athena.
