Neoclassicism, the proclamation of classicism
While classicism, a literary and artistic movement, flourished between the VII and II centuries before Christ in Greece and part of the Mediterranean, especially in areas inhabited by the Greeks; the neoclassicism covers the period from 1760 to 1830 to proclaim the return to the forms of the antiquity because they are the most rational and because they are the true universal and permanent style, which serve forever and which is not influenced by fashions. In this return to the antique ideals there is also a romantic touch as can be seen in this neoclassical sculpture of Athena.
