Pegasus the iconography for spring. According to the legend, where the winged horse hits his hoof on the ground, gushes an inspiring burst of spring. One of those springs was spread on the Mount of the Muses, appointed mountain is the personification of God Helicon. Poseidon ordered Pegasus to hit the mountain to stop its growth, which was caused by the exciting song of the Muses, who were in duel with the Pierides, nine young maidens, proud believing themselves to be especially gifted with an exceptional talent for music, singing and poetry.
