Today we present a reproduction of a museum piece, is this Hermes with caduceus, is a small-scale model of the famous Medici Mercury by Giambologna in 1580, now it is located in the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Florence. Giambologna (1529 - 1608), born as Jean Boulogne, incorrectly is known as Giovanni da Bologna and Giovanni Bologna, was a Flemish sculptor, known for his marble and bronze statues in a late Renaissance or Mannerist style. The work represents the Greek messenger of the gods, carrying the caduceus to guide the souls of the dead, standing on the breath of Zephyr, an allegory to the West Wind.
