One of the best known pieces of ancient Greece is the Winged Victory of Samothrace, also known as Nike of Samothrace, which is located in the Louvre Museum, it is a marble sculpture, which was elaborated in the year 190 before Christ and which is attributed to the Rhodian school of the Hellenistic Period. It was discovered on the island of Samothrace (hence the origin of its name) and is believed that it is of the sculptor Pithókritos of Rhodes.
