The world map of the Roman Empire "Tabula Peutingeriana". A papyrus roll of 4 meters in length.

The "Tabula Peutingeriana" or Peutinger Table is an itinerary which shows the road network of the Roman Empire. You can see one of the copies in the Austrian National Library in Vienna. They have only survived copies of the original map, the map was made in the fourth century because it appears Constantinople which was founded in 328 and some places of the province of Germania which were destroyed in the fifth century. The map covers Europe, parts of Asia (India) and North Africa.
